Задача
With reduced demand for offshore MODUs, the majority of the client's units were stacked in a preserved state, with bare minimum activity and maintenance being undertaken. Even in this state, significant costs persisted, including corporate and regional manpower allocation.
The client wanted to re-align internal manpower to other operating MODUs and reduce overall stacking costs, while protecting asset condition and keeping each unit ready for a credible reactivation when market demand returned.
Наше решение
Our team assumed end-to-end operating responsibility for four MODUs, comprising two drillships and two jackups, including their relocation to a less active, lower-traffic port to reduce day-to-day exposure and cost.
The scope covered preserved rig management, crew provisioning, port, flag and class interfacing, technical support, maintenance management and shore-based services, delivered with a lean footprint of 10 to 12 personnel per MODU.
Результаты
The model delivered 40 to 50% potential savings on operating costs during the lay-up period, with complete hands-off operations for the customer and minimal client-side oversight required.
Keeping the MODUs under a single managed preservation regime also supported faster reactivation timelines when the units were called back into service.
